A new big $2 million winning lottery ticket is sold out in Edina

A winning lottery ticket worth $2 million was purchased at a gas station in Edina on Friday, according to Minnesota Lottery officials.
In a news release, Minnesota Lottery said the ticket was purchased at the Holiday Stationstore at 5105 Edina Industrial Boulevard.
Whoever holds the winning Mega Millions with Megaplier ticket can now claim their prize at Minnesota Lottery headquarters in Roseville.
"A ticket purchased in Edina for the Sept. 27 drawing matched the first five winning numbers drawn, which is normally worth $1 million, but since the player added the Megaplier option to their ticket for an extra buck, their win was multiplied by 2 (the Megaplier number drawn) to win $2 million," Minnesota Lottery shared.
The winning Mega Millions numbers drawn on Friday were 29-46-53-69-70 and the Mega Ball was 23.
The winner will have one year to claim their prize, but Minnesotans may never know who won as the names of lottery prize winners above $10,000 are considered private data under state law.
