Lucky Arundel County man grabs a big jackpot recently in Maryland lottery game

An Anne Arundel County resident had to cancel his appointment with a cardiologist due to a sudden increase in his heart rate.

Those heart palpitations were due to learning that he had just won a $2 million top prize on a $2,000,000 Gold Rush scratch-off.

The 62-year retired firefighter had just made a random stop at the Royal Farms store located at 8200 Veterans Highway in Millersville.

The Crownsville resident was already familiar with the $30 instant ticket and decided to give it another try. The lucky winner was scheduled to see his cardiologist for a stress test that same morning.

However, he scratched off his instant ticket once he got to the car and that was the end of his appointment.

He called the doctor’s office to say that he was just way too excited and his heart was racing too fast for him to have an accurate stress test.

A new appointment was made, although there likely won’t be much to stress about now that he’s a millionaire.
