Barrie man wins big with lottery

After playing the lottery for 40 years, Barrie resident Jack Desrocher has finally hit the jackpot.

He won $50,000 with Instant Crossword, a scratch ticket purchased at Zehrs on Yonge Street in Barrie.

At first, Desrocher thought he had won $5,000, but upon checking the ticket at the store, he was shocked to see that he had actually won $50,000.

He plans to use some of his winnings to take a trip out west to the Rockies and will also share the wealth with his children and grandchildren.

Desrocher's big win is proof that sometimes, persistence pays off in unexpected ways.
