A lucky Boonah won a $100,000 prize in Instant Scratch-Its ticket which he purchased on Friday.

The winning $5 Crossword Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Boonah Newsagency, 43 High Street, Boonah.

The winner was drinking Coca-Cola in the afternoon when he discovered the win.

“It was the afternoon of Good Friday, and I’d sat down to drink a can of Coca-Cola and scratch the Instant Scratch-Its tickets.

That’s when I discovered I’d won $100,000! “I used a pencil to scratch the ticket because I didn’t have anything else at the time, so it made it harder to read. I had to phone someone to come over and look at it for me!

“I couldn’t believe it – I was flabbergasted. I’d switched from drinking coke to a celebratory beer!  

The winner took one day off to celebrate the win.
