Winning $1.6 million Mega Millions ticket sold in Southern California

In a delightful twist of fate, Alfredo Espinoza Soto, a California resident, is celebrating a life-changing moment after winning a substantial $1.7 million from a Mega Millions ticket.

The winning ticket was purchased at the popular Master’s Donuts in Oxnard, Ventura County.

Soto's stroke of luck unfolded in July, with his Mega Millions ticket falling just one number short of the billion-dollar jackpot that captivated the nation in August.

Recently coming forward to claim his prize, Soto's win adds to the lore of lottery fortunes associated with Master’s Donuts, a doughnut shop known for selling winning lottery tickets and games, including a $1 million scratcher in the past.

Michelle Senna, the owner of Master’s Donuts, shared the shop's excitement, stating, “We sell a lot of tickets. We have a pretty long line when the jackpots are high. We sold a $1 million Scratchers ticket about ten years ago.” The store received an additional $8,000 bonus for selling the winning Mega Millions ticket.
