A pit stop for gas turned into a life-changing moment for a Canadian lotto player. Lloyd Adams, a resident of Delta, BC, struck gold by winning the $500,000 Extra prize from the August 30, 2023 Lotto 6/49 draw.

Adams, in disbelief, had the retailer double-check his ticket after the self-scanner revealed the massive win.

He purchased the winning ticket from a Shell station in Tsawwassen and was so excited that the first person he shared the news with was his wife. They plan to celebrate their upcoming wedding anniversary in style and use the jackpot to support their family and enjoy life to the fullest.
