‘Basketball Man’ Wins $50,000 on Pick 5, Helps Co-Worker Win $25,000

A lucky man from Charles County won a whopping sum of $50,000 playing Maryland Lottery's Pick 5 lottery game.

The winning ticket was sold at Bryantown Store at 6435 Leonardtown Road. The ticket distributor will get a bonus of $750 for selling the winning scratch-Off ticket.

He told lottery officials that he occasionally plays Pick 3 and Pick 4 but became a daily player in February when the Maryland Lottery introduced the Pick 5 game.

He plans to be very conservative with his winnings and at this point he is undecided on how he will spend his prize.

The Maryland Lottery offers 10 draw games, instant FAST PLAY games and instant scratch-off tickets. Daily drawings are shown on Baltimore television station WBAL-TV.
