Bowie Contractor Eyes Retirement After $150,000 Powerball Win

A 75-year-old contractor from Prince George's County, Maryland, is celebrating a $150,000 Powerball prize that's making retirement seem more appealing.

Despite his five-decade-long career, this lottery enthusiast has always enjoyed his work. He plays the same numbers every time, a mix of birthdays and random digits, which has previously won him a $50,000 Bonus Match 5 top prize.

For the Powerball draw on October 7, he invested $20 in a ticket, adding the Power Play option for an extra boost. The next morning, he used his mobile app to check his ticket, but the results were unclear. A trip back to Pointer Ridge Liquors at 1326 Crain Highway in Bowie confirmed his prize.

He had matched four white balls and the Powerball, securing a $50,000 third-tier win. The Power Play multiplier of three tripled his prize to $150,000.

While excited about his win, he remained calm, showing the amount to his wife. Her immediate question was, "Can you quit working now?" Retirement is now a consideration, but he hasn't finalized any immediate plans for his newfound fortune.
