Family's $1 Million Lottery Win Remains a Secret Surprise

Cuong Le, Vuong Tran, and Ha Trinh, who frequently play the lottery together, recently experienced the shock of their lives when they discovered they had won $1 million. The trio matched all seven Encore numbers in the July 26 Lotto 6/49 draw, a moment they initially couldn't believe.

Vuong Tran recounted their reaction, saying, “I checked our ticket on the OLG app and found out we won. I scanned it about 20 times before believing it! Then I called the other group members.” Ha Trinh chimed in, describing it as the "best phone call" she ever received, and Cuong Le shared, "I was so happy – that was the best day of my life."

Rather than immediately sharing the good news, the family members made a collective decision to keep their lottery win a secret. They planned to surprise their loved ones once they had the prize money in hand. As for how they intend to use their newfound wealth, they mentioned not having any concrete plans yet, as they let the reality of their win sink in.

The winning ticket was purchased at Mr. Convenience on Pickwick Drive in Mississauga.
