A lucky scratch off lottery player from Nelson county wins a big jackpot recently

A Nelson County, Kentucky man won big on a lottery ticket and had a little fun surprising his wife with it.

Andrew Bean, of Coxs Creek, won $50,000 on a 500X scratch-off ticket. He stopped at a Five Star in Bardstown earlier this month when he bought the ticket.

Rather than scratching the ticket off, Bean scanned the barcode to see if it was a winner. When Bean saw he had won $50,000, he gave the ticket to his wife, Michelle, and told her it was a $1,000 prize.

“I’m scratching it and I’m thinking, this is a lot more than $1,000,” Michelle said. “When I scanned it, I was like, “Oh my God, you’ve just won $50,000!” He told lottery officials this isn't the first time he has been lucky.

Previously, Bean has won prizes of $2,000 and $10,000 from various scratch-off tickets.
