Friday the 13th Might Be Lucky for Michiganders

Forget the bad luck stories—Friday the 13th has actually been a jackpot day for Michigan players! Over the years, the Michigan Lottery reports four Mega Millions wins on this supposedly unlucky day, totaling $171 million:

  • June 13, 2008 – $57 million, Kent City man

  • May 13, 2011 – $27 million, Kalamazoo man

  • June 13, 2014 – $66 million, Port Huron woman

  • Oct. 13, 2017 – $21 million, Waterford man

This Friday, a whopping $385 million Mega Millions jackpot is up for grabs, with the cash option sitting at $174.2 million.

It’s been a while since a Michigander hit the Mega Millions jackpot—the last one was January 2021, when an Oakland County lottery club won $1.05 billion, Michigan’s largest ever.

If you’re feeling lucky, tickets are available at lottery retailers statewide until 10:45 p.m. Friday. You can also grab them online at MichiganLottery.com.

Quick Highlights:
