A South Carolina man is calling his massive lottery win a case of good karma after doing the right thing just weeks earlier.

The Grand Strand resident said he found a misplaced $500 winning Pick 3 ticket on the floor of a Murphy gas station outside a Walmart on Dorsett Drive in Myrtle Beach. Instead of keeping it, he left his contact details with the store manager so the owner could reclaim it.

When the lucky ticket holder came back looking for it, the man handed it over without hesitation.

“The owner was incredibly thankful,” he said. “After that, I had a feeling my own lucky moment was coming.”

And it did.

Not long after returning the ticket, he bought a Palmetto Cash 5 ticket at the very same store and matched all five numbers drawn on April 25, landing an eye-popping $586,000 jackpot.
