Albuquerque man claims $3.52 million Lotto America jackpot

In a momentous occasion for the New Mexico Lottery, Neil Cochran, a resident of Albuquerque, claimed the coveted $3.52 million Lotto America jackpot.

This achievement marks the first time a player from New Mexico has secured the Lotto America jackpot. Cochran's winning ticket, purchased at the Speedway on Paradise Blvd. NW, emerged triumphant by matching all five White Ball numbers (8, 11, 23, 47, 48) and the Star Ball number 4 from the Nov. 4, 2023, draw.

Introduced to the game by a Speedway employee, Cochran, an assistant basketball coach at Northern New Mexico College, trusted his instincts and played the same numbers across three major jackpot games: Powerball, Mega Millions, and Lotto America.

His unique strategy paid off when he realized his $1 Lotto America ticket held the winning combination.

Cochran recounted his mother's disbelief upon hearing the news, stating, "I thought they were pulling a prank." The Lotto America game, known for its affordable $1 tickets and favorable odds, has proven to be a rewarding choice for Cochran, demonstrating that a small investment can lead to life-changing outcomes.
