North Carolina Lottery Winner's Wife 'Started Shaking' After Major Win

A lucky man from Hubert named Teddy Sparks won North Carolina Education Lottery’s $25 Spectacular Riches ticket game worth $100,000.

The winning ticket was sold at the Circle K on North Marine Boulevard in Jacksonville. The ticket distributor will get a bonus of $1000 for selling the winning scratch-Off ticket.

Sparks recently claimed his winning amount from the lottery headquarters, taking home a grand total of $71,017 after all required state and federal tax withholdings.

He told lottery officials that he wants to pay some bills and save the rest of the winning amount.

The North Carolina Education Lottery (NCEL) is run by the government of North Carolina. 100% of the North Carolina Lottery net proceeds go directly to benefit the state's education, with the current figure sitting at more than $9 billion since its inception in 2007.

The Spectacular Riches game launched in September 2021 with eight top prizes of $1 million and 20 $100,000 prizes.
