Baltimore resident wins $50,000 Maryland lottery prize

According to the Maryland Lottery, a lucky retiree from Baltimore just become $50,000 richer after winning in a recent Powerball drawing.

The 77 years old retiree won the extra cash in a quick pick ticket in the May 7 Powerball drawing. The lucky winner purchased the winning ticket at a 7-Eleven located at 7901 Wise Avenue in Baltimore. 

The man is really happy with the cash though he won the smaller amount.

"A million would have been better, but this is still good," the lucky retiree said to the officials. 

The winner has no immediate plans for his windfall. 

The next Powerball draw will take place on Wednesday, May 11 with an estimated $68 million. Lucky winner can chose the cash option of $39 million.
