One Maryland lottery player scored $50,000

Ellicott City Md Lightning struck twice for a Maryland man who scored a $50,000 prize from a scratch-off ticket purchased from the very same vending machine that netted him $10,000 earlier this year.

The Ellicott City resident said he was in a hurry when he stopped at the Shell gas station on Waterloo Road. Originally intending to buy two crossword-themed tickets, he opted instead for a single $20 Lucky 777 ticket. That quick decision paid off big — the ticket revealed a $50,000 jackpot.

Earlier this year, the same vending machine had delivered him a $10,000 win. Despite his streak, the man insists his approach to playing hasn’t changed.
“My expectations have not changed. I have no expectation of winning. At best, I’ll break even,” he said.

The lucky winner plans to use his latest winnings to help fund a family trip to Disney World with his daughter and her family a magical ending to an already incredible run of luck.
