A Maryland woman became $50,000 richer after her husband purchased the lottery ticket for her.

Robyn Mejia a 39-year-old school teacher was in shock after scanning the ticket in a store and discovering the win. Mejia was having a rough week but the $50K prize changed it.

The winning Maryland Lottery ticket was sold at 7-Eleven in Thurston, Maryland. The store owner receives $500 as a bonus for selling the winning ticket

Mejia said "We have been saving money for a down payment on a house, thinking we would be ready by the end of the year," said the 39-year-old mother of two. "But now, we don’t have to wait!"
