It was a big Friday for lottery players in Massachusetts — and one lucky ticket turned just $10 into $1 million. ?

The winning scratcher came from the “$2,000,000 50X Cashword 2025” game, which launched on October 10, 2025. As of February 28, this marks the first $1 million prize claimed out of 10 available in the game. Even better? There are still multi-million-dollar prizes left, including remaining $2 million top awards.

Here’s where the big wins happened:

  • ? $1 million winner sold at Turnpike Liquors in Shrewsbury

  • ?? $250,000 jackpot from the “$250,000 Winter Winnings” $20 scratcher, purchased at Express Mart in Orleans

  • ? $100,000 Mass Cash ticket sold at a Food Mart in Leominster

And that’s not all.

On Thursday alone, 726 prizes worth $600 or more were either won or claimed statewide.
Some of the hottest spots included:

  • 61 winners in Boston

  • 27 in Worcester

  • 17 in Springfield

The Massachusetts State Lottery publishes a daily list of winners claiming prizes over $600, so there’s always something exciting happening across the state.

 

So far this year, the biggest win in Massachusetts was a whopping $5 million prize. That came from a “$5,000,000 100X Cashword 2024” ticket sold at a Mobil gas station in Uxbridge and claimed on January 20.
