Michigan Man Discovers Forgotten Lottery Ticket Worth $25,000 a Year for Life

Floyd Warstler of Sterling Heights, Michigan, has claimed a long-forgotten lottery ticket that turned out to be worth a life-altering $25,000 a year.

Despite winning during the August 13 Lucky For Life drawing, the 70-year-old Warstler had no idea of his extraordinary fortune until nine months later.

Warstler narrated the astonishing sequence of events, stating, "About a month after the drawing, I realized I'd never checked this ticket, so I scanned it while I was at the store."

To his surprise, a message prompted him to file a claim at the Lottery office, leading him to believe he might have won a $5,000 prize.

Presented with two options upon claiming his winnings, he had to decide between $25,000 a year for 20 years or life (whichever is greater), or a single payment of $390,000.

Opting for the lump sum, Warstler now has a significant amount of money at his disposal, and he intends to make astute investments to secure his financial future.
