South Carolina man surprised wife with big lottery winning ticket

A South Carolina man surprised his wife with a big lottery win. The lucky man was on his way to a home improvement store when he decided to buy the lottery ticket. 

He decision proved to be lucky fortune, which won him $300,000 jackpot, the officials said. 

The anonymous winner bought the winning Psychedelic Payout ticket from the Sunoco on Broad Street in Sumter. He made a beeline back to his house,  abandoning his home improvement trip, the officials said in a release. 

The winner says after he got back home, he surprised his wife.

"I told her to 'Come here, sit down and look at this,'" he said to the lottery officials. "I walked into another room and heard her screaming."

The lucky couple shared their respective plans that they will use their winnings to donate to a church and save the rest.

The Sunoco store received a $3,000 as a bonus for selling the winning ticket, the officials said.
