A lucky married couple of Minnesota hits the life changing Mega Millions jackpot earlier this month, but their lottery story doesn't begin there. 

The lucky pair choose the cash option for their windfall, which was $66.9 million - the largest jackpot prize claimed so far in Minnesota after the new anonymity law.

According to reports, the couple first shared a pizza and played scratch tickets on their first date on 1990, which was lucky happened to be the first scratch ticket sold in Minnesota. 

The lucky couple said they have been playing the same numbers for more three  decades, only changing one or two numbers on occasion. 

The lucky numbers drawn for that night were 02, 08, 14, 20, 31 and the Gold megaball number was 17.

The anonymous winner said after a few hours of sleep the couple went to work the next day.

The couple said they have typical immediate plans with the desire to travel, buy a house and a car.
