Lottery retailer claims $1-million Merry Millions prize

A lucky Mississauga resident named Hyoshin Kim won a whopping sum of $1 million playing OLG's Merry Millions lottery game.

The winning ticket was purchased from the Silvercreek Convenience on Silver Creek Blvd. in Mississauga. The store will receive a bonus of $10,000 for selling the winning ticket.

Kim told lottery officials that since she’s employed at a lottery retailer, the claim falls within the OLG’s definition of an insider win.

Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, known for corporate branding purposes simply as OLG since 2006, is a Crown corporation owned by the Government of Ontario, Canada.

The minimum age to purchase OLG lottery tickets is 18; however, for patronizing casinos and/or parimutuel facilities in the province, it is 19.
