February Lottery Sales Send $9.5M to Mississippi State Funds

The Mississippi Lottery Corporation has shared its latest update for February 2026, and the numbers show another strong month for lottery players and the state.

? February 2026 Lottery Transfer

Players helped generate a $9,567,838.20 transfer to the State of Mississippi during February alone.

That contribution pushed the Fiscal Year 2026 total to an impressive $88,222,820.51, showing how much the lottery continues to support state funding.

? What Happens After $80 Million?

Once transfers passed the $80 million mark, the funding rules shifted. Now:

  • All remaining transfers for the fiscal year will go directly to the Education Enhancement Fund (EEF).

  • The fund is managed by the Mississippi Department of Education.

  • With the latest transfer, the EEF has already received $8,222,820.51.

? Why It Matters

Lottery ticket sales aren’t just about jackpots — they also help support education across Mississippi. Every ticket played contributes to programs that benefit students and schools statewide.
