New Westminster man wins $675,000 lottery, plans European vacation with brothers

A man from New Westminster has won the top prize of $675,000 on a Set for Life scratch ticket from the B.C. Lottery Corporation.

The lucky winner, Steven McBride, plans to take his three brothers on a European vacation using the winnings.

He decided to try his luck and purchased a ticket himself. It turned out to be a wise decision, as he won the grand prize.

"I was at the 7-Eleven validating the ticket on the self-checker when the screen froze," McBride recounted.

"The lady there congratulated me and told me the amount of the grand prize. It was surreal."
