NC man wins $2 million after buying $20 lottery ticket

A lucky man of East Flat Rock named Yoni Davila won $2 million prize with a scratch-off ticket worth $20 playing North Carolina Education Lottery.

The winning ticket was sold in Triangle Stop Food Store on Asheville Highway in Hendersonville. The store will receive a bonus of $20,000 for selling the winning scratch-Off ticket. 

The winner recently claimed his winning amount from the lottery headquarters and took home a lump-sum amount of $1.2 million.

Davila plans to buy a new house with the winning amount and invest the rest. 

100% of North Carolina Lottery net proceeds go directly to benefit the state's education, with the current figure sitting at more than $9 billion since its inception in 2007.
