Ontario resident won Lotto 6/49 jackpot worth over $80k

A lucky man from Ontario named Zulfiqar Chaudhry won Lotto 6/49 jackpot worth $83,720 after playing lottery games for almost two decades.

The winning ticket was sold at the CNIB Kiosk in Walmart on City Centre Drive in Mississauga. The ticket distributor will get a bonus of $800 for selling the winning scratch-Off ticket. 

“Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49 are my favourite games,” said Chaudhry, who works in logistics.

The winner told lottery officials that he will be using his winnings to buy a new car and he also plans to invest in his children’s education.

Lotto 6/49 is one of three national lottery games in Canada. 

Winning numbers are drawn by the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation (ILC) every Wednesday and Saturday, executed with a random number generator.
