Powerball jackpot hits estimated $580 million, 10th largest prize ever

The Powerball jackpot has grown to $580 million ahead of the next drawing on Saturday, and is now 10th largest prize ever.

If no one wins this next drawing, it will grow even higher. 

The minimum Powerball bet is $2. In each game, players select five numbers from a set of 69 white balls and one number from 26 red Powerballs, the red ball number can be the same as one of the white balls. 

A winning ticket must be claimed in the jurisdiction in which it was purchased, regardless of residence. 

Powerball players do not have to choose cash or annuity unless they win a jackpot.
