Powerball winning ticket worth $50,000 was claimed by Williamsport resident

A third-tier prize winning ticket of Powerball lottery was sold in Washington County in May 9 has been claimed by a man from Williamsport, according to the Maryland Lottery officials. 

The 63 years old winner, who is a contractor chose to remain anonymous for his win, the lottery officials said, which is allowed as per Maryland's law.

"I figure that somebody is going to win these jackpot and it'll be one ticket that does it for them," the lucky winner told the Maryland lottery officials. 

"That is why I always have at least one ticket,"

The 63 years old winner purchased the winning ticket from the Sheetz at 20723 National Pike, at Mapleville Road.

According to Maryland lottery, the winning numbers were 18, 30, 35, 52 and 56 and the Red Powerball was 05 with the 2X powerplay.
