Elementary school teacher wins lottery prize after her husband buys her a ticket to lift her spirit after rough week

It feels amazing when you have a great day and the reason is your loved one.

A lucky Teacher wins big after her husband buys her a lottery ticket to lift her spirit.

Robyn Meija's husband bought her a $5 Scratch-off ticket on March 12 after she had a rough week, winning her a top prize worth $50,000.

The 39 years old woman has been an elementary school teacher for 18 years. She is a mother of two children, according to a Maryland Lottery release.

The couple was in disbelief when they found out they had won the top prize in Maryland's "Cash To Go" game.

She said her husband took the ticket to a 7-Eleven to check if it was real. They asked her brother in law to triple check the ticket on Maryland Lottery app.

"We have been saving money for a down payment on a house, thinking we would be ready by the end of the year." Meija said. She says now they don't have to wait for it.

The 7-Eleven store will receive $500 bonus prize from the lottery.
