A lucky Scituate guy wins $4 million recently in a lottery game

A Scituate resident’s $10 purchase of a lottery ticket won him a $4 million prize earlier this month.

Richard Bonanno bought the ticket in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “4,000,000 Mayhem” game at a convenience store in Hull, lottery officials said.

He elected to claim his winnings on Aug. 17 as a one-time lump sum of $2.6 million before taxes.

The Quick Pick Food Shop on Nantasket Avenue, where he bought the lucky lottery ticket, is expected to receive a $40,000 bonus for its sale of the winning ticket, the lottery said.

Other lottery winners in recent weeks have included a Braintree woman who planned to take her family to Disney World and a Holbrook man who planned to retire on his $2 million in winnings.
