A lucky lotto lottery player from North Texas wins a big jackpot recently

Someone in the Dallas-Fort Worth area has won a $95 million jackpot after purchasing a winning a Lotto Texas ticket on Saturday night, April 22.

The Texas Lottery says someone in Colleyville, a small town between Dallas and Fort Worth, purchased the winning ticket at a store called Lottery Now on Saturday, according to the Texas Lottery website.

The winner, who hasn't been identified, chose to receive the $95 million jackpot in one lump sum. The win has a cash value worth an estimated $57.5 million, which would come out to around $47.3 million after taxes, Dallas-Fort Worth station KSAX reports.

Texas Lottery says this is the third largest Lotto Texas jackpot won in the Lone Star State in 12 years. The largest jackpot, $145 million, was won in El Paso in 2004.

It's also the largest jackpot win in the U.S. and the second largest in the world this year, according to Lottery Post.
