South Carolina Lottery Ticket Theft Ends With Arrest and $25,000 Bond

A South Carolina man is facing felony charges after allegedly trying to cash winning scratch-off lottery tickets that had been stolen from a grocery store.

Zarmonn Brushaud Boyd, 27, of Gaffney, was arrested September 29 following an investigation by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED). He was charged with intent to defraud and counterfeit game tickets, along with second-degree burglary.

According to an arrest warrant, Boyd allegedly stole lottery tickets from the Ingles Market at 410 West 3rd Street in Gaffney. Investigators say he later tried to redeem the stolen tickets on September 26 in Cherokee County.

Authorities have not disclosed how many tickets were taken or how much the winning tickets were worth.
