The store on Sugar Run Road will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket

It wasn't his first choice, but a scratch-off lottery ticket proved to be a great backup option when it revealed a $1 million prize for a customer at the Waynesburg Giant Eagle store.

Bob Keller, a 45-year-old certified nursing assistant from Greene County, was presented with a commemorative check on Wednesday for his winnings in the $1,000,000 Merry and Bright game.

Keller said it was after a long day at work on April 8 that he bought the ticket and learned he hit the jackpot. "I was exhausted, I had been up since 5 in the morning, and it was the afternoon," he said in a news release from the Pennsylvania Lottery.

"I don't know how this money will impact my life. I'm not sure what I'll do." "Technically I wasn't going for that ticket. I went to the machine and it didn't have the ticket I wanted so I pushed the Christmas one," Keller told the lottery.
