Third-prize $500,000 Powerball ticket was sold for Saturday’s drawing at a convenience store in Morris County.
The ticket was worth a half-million million because the Power Play was 10X, which only has a 1 in 43 chance of being selected.
The 10X multiplier is only in play if the jackpot is $150 million or less
A second, third-prize ticket was also bought in New Jersey — at Super Convenience on West Front Street in Plainfield.
It’s worth $50,000. Saturday’s winning numbers were: 15, 30, 47, 50 and 51. The Powerball was 3 with a Power Play of 10X.
While no one across the country hit Saturday’s $45.7 million jackpot, a second-prize, $1 million ticket was sold in Arkansas. The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1.
A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers and win at least $1 million, while the odds are 913,129 to 1 of winning the third prize of at least $50,000.
