Three lucky Powerball tickets sold in North Jersey came one number away from the jackpot on Wednesday, January 7 — and still walked away with solid wins.

According to the New Jersey Lottery, each ticket matched four white balls plus the Powerball, scoring $50,000 each.

A brief delay before the numbers dropped

The January 7 Powerball drawing ran about 30 minutes late due to a technical issue. The numbers were finally released shortly after 11:30 p.m., with officials confirming there was no jackpot winner this time.
