Unclaimed $1 Million Mega Millions Prize in Ames, Iowa

A Mega Millions ticket sold in Ames, Iowa, last year turned out to be a $1 million winner, but the lucky ticket holder had until 4 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6, to come forward and claim their prize.

Unfortunately, the deadline passed, and the prize money has gone unclaimed, returning to the lottery pool.

The winning ticket was purchased at The Filling Station and Gateway Express, located at 2400 University Blvd. in Ames.

It matched the first five numbers drawn in the September 6, 2022, Mega Millions drawing 6-17-46-59-68, missing only the Mega Ball number 2.

It's worth noting that prizes exceeding $250,000 must be claimed in person at the Iowa Lottery headquarters in Clive.

Unfortunately, the mystery winner did not step forward in time to collect their well-deserved million-dollar prize.
