'Almost had a heart attack': Uxbridge man, 58, wins Ontario jackpot after buying lottery ticket at convenience store

An Uxbridge man, Michele (Mike) Scetto, aged 58, achieved a significant victory by winning "Ontario's jackpot," as announced by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).

Scetto's triumph came in the Lottario draw on Aug. 26, 2023, where he secured an impressive $456,680.90. Adding to his success, another one of his Lottario selections earned him an additional $16, bringing his total winnings to $456,696.90.

Having played the lottery for two decades, Scetto enjoys switching up the games he plays and considers Lottario one of his main choices. Recalling the moment he discovered his win, he checked his ticket at the store and was overwhelmed with excitement, jokingly stating, "I almost had a heart attack."

As of now, Scetto has only shared the news with his mother, sister, and nephews. With plans to use his winnings to pay off some bills, he is savoring the unexpected financial boost.
