College student wins $1 million lottery prize thanks to lucky scratch-off at 7-Eleven

A lucky woman from Virginia named Perla Gomez won a whopping sum of $1 million playing Virginia Lottery’s Commonwealth scratcher game.

The winning ticket was purchased from  a Virginia Beach-area 7-Eleven convenience store. The store will receive a bonus of $10,000 for selling the winning scratch-Off ticket. 

Officials said the college student was with her uncle and friend when she scratched the winning ticket.

The winner recently claimed her winning amount from the lottery headquarters and chose a one-time cash option of $640,205 before taxes. 

Gomez plans to save the winning amount for her future uses and throw a family get together for celebrating her win.
