Barbara Meyer of Waterloo is savoring the sweet taste of success after scratching her way to a substantial $250,000 prize with the OLG's Instant Holiday Riches scratch game.

The retired mother and grandmother experienced disbelief as she scanned her winning ticket at an OLG ticket checker.

“I thought, ‘Oh it can’t be’ and scanned it again. I started to get nervous then headed home to show my husband — he was floored and didn’t believe it at first,” shared Meyer in a Dec. 5 OLG news release. “It’s amazing. I always wondered if I would ever be a lucky one, and here I am.”

With Christmas around the corner, Meyer plans to make the season extra special for her children and grandchildren. She and her husband are looking forward to celebrating their good fortune with a memorable dinner out.

The winning ticket, leading to this joyful windfall, was purchased at Daisy Mart on Glen Forrest Boulevard in Waterloo.
