A winning Mega Millions lottery ticket worth $1 million was sold in East Charlotte which matched the numbers on all five white balls.

The winning ticket was sold at the Kwick Mart on Albemarle Road in east Charlotte. The ticket distributor will get a bonus of $10,000 for selling the winning scratch-Off ticket. 

Mega Millions is drawn at 11 pm Eastern Time on Tuesday and Friday evenings, including holidays.

The odds of matching all five white balls are 1 in 12.6 million. The winner has 180 days from the drawing to claim their prize.

Each game costs $2. Of the 47 Mega Millions jurisdictions, all but California offer an option, called "Megaplier"' (plays with the Megaplier are $3 each) where nonjackpot prizes are multiplied by 2, 3, 4, or 5.
