A winning Powerball lottery ticket worth $50,000 was sold at Murphy Express near Bennettsville for Saturday’s drawing.
The winning ticket was sold at the Murphy Express #8830 at 336 Hwy. 9 W. in Bennettsville. The ticket distributor will get a bonus of $500 for selling the winning scratch-Off ticket.
The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 293 million. The odds of matching four of the first five white ball numbers and the red Powerball are 1 in 913,129.
Powerball is an American lottery game offered by 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday evening at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time, at Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.
