The winner mistook the million dollar win for $10K

A man from Tulsa became the 79th millionaire of the Oklahoma Lottery on Wednesday, August 9. According to Oklahoma Lottery, the man checked his ticket on Saturday, August 5, morning.

He thought he won $10,000, but when he went to the Oklahoma Lottery Winner Center to claim his winning, he was told he won a $1 million Mega Millions prize.

The man initially purchased the ticket for the $1.35 billion drawing for Friday, August 4.

His winning ticket was sold at the QuikTrip at 5955 South Lewis in Tulsa.
