Lucky Welland man wins Encore lottery worth $100k

Welland man’s visit to Pointe au Baril results in six-figure Encore lottery win

A lucky man from Welland named Joshua Kurucz won a whopping sum of $100,000 playing OLG's Encore lottery game in the Jan. 27 drawing. 

The winning ticket was purchased from Shell on Highway 69 in Pointe au Baril, a community north of Parry Sound. The store will receive a bonus of $1,000 for selling the winning ticket. 

He shared that he always play Ontario 49 and Lotto 6/49, and switches only between these two lotteries. 

Kurucz told lottery officials that he plans to save the winning amount in the bank for future uses. 

Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, known for corporate branding purposes simply as OLG since 2006, is a Crown corporation owned by the Government of Ontario, Canada. 

The minimum age to purchase OLG lottery tickets is 18; however, for patronizing casinos and/or parimutuel facilities in the province, it is 19.
