A winning Maryland Lottery’s Powerball ticket worth $1 million that was sold in Snow Hill for September 27 drawing last year has been finally claimed.

The winning ticket was purchased from the Duck In II in Snow Hill. The store will receive a bonus of $10,000 for selling the winning ticket. 

The winning ticket was claimed by a lucky woman from Worcester County. When she discovered the $10 ticket in her wallet and sent her husband out to scan it to see if there was even a small win. 

The winner told lottery officials that she plans to pay off the family's mortgage and donate some amount to an area animal rescue. 

The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency (MLGCA) is an independent agency of the Maryland government. The MLGCA operates the Maryland Lottery and serves as regulator for Maryland's casino and sports wagering programs and a number of ancillary gaming programs. The minimum age to buy Maryland Lottery tickets is 18, and casino patrons must be at least 21.
