$1 million lottery winner to use cash for anniversary trip to Greece

A lucky man from Wilmington named Michael Paquette won a whopping sum of $1 million playing Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$10,000,000 Cash King" scratch ticket game.

The winning ticket was sold at E T D Food Mart in Tewksbury. The store will receive a bonus of $10,000 for selling the winning scratch-Off ticket.

Paquette recently claimed his winning amount from the lottery headquarters and chose the cash option on his prize, and received a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes.

He plans on putting some of his winnings towards a “dream” 35th anniversary trip to Greece.

As with most U.S. lotteries, the Bay State's lottery games require players to be at least 18 years old.

Drawings are broadcast on WBZ-TV (channel 4) the CBS-station in the Boston television market.

Overall, there were 675 winning lottery tickets worth at least $600 sold or claimed in Massachusetts on Tuesday, Jan. 10, including six in Springfield and 25 in Worcester.
